Some countries don't have the possibility to track or insure small objects. And if they do, it's usually very expensive. Here in Finland for example, you can track a flat letter only inside the country, it's on it's own when it leaves the country. For a packet you can buy tracking and/or insurance, but the packet alone costs over $30 to send (no matter how light and small it is..) so once again it's just too expensive. I always save the receipt when I have sent an item overseas (and inside the country too) and I keep it until the other person has informed me that they got the item. Here if you want compensation if it goes missing you have to "International Signed for". It costs 3.30 ($6.20) on top of airmail costs, plus the fact it only insures up to the value of 30 ($56.35). If your item is worth more than 30, then you pay even more insurance. Most buyers dont go for it because of the sheer cost, as it is very easy to be paying over $10 in shipping costs, when you could be paying less than $5.00 uninsured. In most cases, if it is a brand new item it is far cheaper to pay for the item and for it to be sent again than paying insurance. International Signed for is also a bit restrictive. You can use only use it for up to 2kg, unless it is a book or printed papers, then it is 5kg. It is not also valid in Cambodia, Canada and Republic of Ireland. Also there are minimum and maximum demensions for the parcel. Also the extra insurance is only valid up to 500 ($939.10) maximum, so if your parcel is worth more than that, then you are stuck. The trade started out as any other trade would have. I wanted her MIB Wedding Bells, and we would trade for cash through Paypal and my Bright Eyes. Then things got fishy. The picture that she showed me of Wedding Bells I loved! I complimented her on her collection, as she only had perfect mint cards. The problem was that the good Wedding Bells wasn't the one she was trading. She was trading a different one that I never saw a picture of. Something I had to actually ask her. I asked "Is this the exact Wedding Bells I am going to get?". Her response was no, that I was getting a worse conditioned box. Again, not something she told me out front, but something I had to clarify. That made me worried. But, I went on. I was waiting for a VERY LONG TIME for the payment on my MOC Fizzy. I don't know the exact length of time since I delete all old emails pretty promptly, but I can assure you that it was definitely enough time to receive the other side of the trade. No, it was not my intention to receive her side first, but since my side took so long to pay me I got the jist of the deal. Obviously she wasn't going to send me anything, so I sent her nothing in return. I didn'y email her about it because I didn't get duped into her scheme, so I didn't feel like I had lost anything. And the only reason why I was bidding on her MOC ponywear was bc if she didn't send it, Paypal would reimburse me. So, there's the deal.

But there are a few things I don't understand. You asked her if she would send you the MOC pony you saw in her collection pictures, she said no, it will be another one with a not mint box. Was that before or after you agreed on a shipping date for the trade? And I don't understand why you blame someone else for not paying you. I was in the same situation, but I told the other I didn't have the money in my paypal account, so she should wait before she sold them to me till I got the money. And why didn't you sent your bright eyes to Rosse on the shipping date you agreed? And did the pony Rosse sent you arrived?

I told her my end would go out when another person paid me, and she agreed. That was not a problem. I was going to send out Bright Eyes at the same time. There is nothing difficult here at all. And she had advertised selling her MIB Wedding Bells with the pic of the good one, not the other one that it turned into. And no, again, I never received anything from her end. I'm not sure why I am being ridiculed and questioned as the bad guy when I did nothing either wrong nor shady.

I was under the impression that when something weird happens in a trade you politely email about it, instead of making assumptions and leaving the issue to rot somewhere. No matter what you feel is the most likely circumstance - in this case that they other person wasn't sending you anything - since this is not fact but an assumption means that, as you have entered a deal, you should contact the other person asking for clarification. That way if something is wrong, as in this case, both parties are alerted early. Then it's much easier to sort things out. I understand that your actions are reasonable if they match up with your story, however the fact that you were too lazy to contact the other person doesn't look good. That was not my intention. There are always two sides of a story, and Rosse told hers, so I was curious about yours. But there is one thing I don't understand, if you agree to trade, you have sort of a contract to my opinion, and are both responsible for what happens. Rosse seems to be out of a lot of money and you seem to be out of nothing. I personally don't think that is fair.

I've always gotten the other trades from everyone I've done business with on here, and they have in return received mine. This is the one and only fishy trade I've yet to have.

Okay, done with the quotes, and here's my conclusion: Before you, Wilmersgirl, replied here I thought that it was your intention from the beginning to scam me out of my MIB Pony. My reasons? I never got anything from you. AND I never heard anything from you, you never replied to my emails, "paging" threads, or this thread! Now that you have finally replied, I'm starting to think that the MIB Pony did get lost in the mail, and that you are just an awful trader. Why? 1) You did not send out you part in time (or at all). 2) You have failed to keep contact during our trade. 3) You assume things based on pretty much nothing. I am actually quite dissapointed in you Wilmersgirl, as I thought you were a good trader. I'm sorry this post turned out so long, but I want to be sure no one thinks I'm the one at fault here.
